Tokyo, October 1, 2008 - From October 30 thru November 4, JIMTOF 2008, the Japan International Machine Tool Fair, will feature a swath of cutting-edge manufacturing solutions from NSK Ltd., Japan's largest and world's third-largest bearing maker. One of the machine-tool world's top-three shows, JIMTOF will be held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ward in Tokyo, Japan)
Under the theme “Perfect Technology Begins with People” NSK's exhibit highlights the pivotal role of its engineering staff in continually perfecting every aspect of existing products – and creating new products for the future. Visitors will see how NSK engineers are extending the frontiers in all critical measures of machine-tool performance: accuracy, precision, stability, speed, error detection and environmental performance.
Featured products will include:
Exhibit | Feature |
---|---|
240 m/min high-speed table (Reference Exhibit) * world’s fastest as of Oct 2008 |
The world’s fastest 240 m/min machine tool table with ball screw, for increasing production efficiency. |
50,000 min-1 spindle (Reference Exhibit) * world’s fastest as of Oct 2008 |
An ultra high-speed spindle with improved rigidity that is stable even in the event of changes in orientation, for increasing production efficiency in five-axis machine tools and complex lathes. |
Two-axis high acceleration/deceleration oscillating table (Reference Exhibit) |
This table is capable of both high acceleration/deceleration and minute oscillation, reducing friction during fine pitch operations and minute oscillating operations, increasing the finished quality of machined surfaces on dies. |
New cage | New, high-speed outer ring guided cage with high accuracy and low friction, for increasing the finished quality of machined surfaces on dies. |
Grease-tight seals for ball screws | A new structure that prevents grease from leaking, for longer ball screw life and cleaner operating environments. This structure improves grease sealant performance by more than 200%, and dramatically reduces grease volumes. |
High precision slim angular contact bearing “Robust slim™” | A highly rigid ball bearing for swiveling axes used in five-axis machine tools, which reduced run-out to less than 0.5 micrometers, increasing running accuracy. |
NSK Linear guide Nanoguide™ (Reference Exhibit) | A linear guide with a level of precision accurate to less than 30 nanometers, to prevent surface roughness and increasing the quality of machined surfaces. |
<Artwork> Lifting Ball Catcher | A ball screw throws a large ball into the air and catches it with very little impact, its movements resembling those of a human. |
Organizers | Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association Tokyo Big Sight Inc. |
