NSK to Exhibit at Auto Shanghai 2011

NSK technology contributes to environment and automotive safety

Tokyo, Japan, April 19th, 2011. NSK Ltd. (NSK; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO: Norio Otsuka) will exhibit at the 14th Auto Shanghai 2011 being held from April 19 to April 28 at the Shanghai International Expo Center (SNIEC). Being the world's largest motor show held every two years, Auto Shanghai features exhibits from automotive manufacturers and component manufacturers from Asia, North America, Europe and Japan. At Auto Shanghai 2011, exhibitors such as NSK showcase not only Chinese market trends but also future trends in the global automotive industry.

Following the theme “NSK technology contributes to environment and automotive safety”, the exhibit of NSK showcases a wide range of products that meet the needs for high product reliability by customers in the Chinese market. The latest NSK products designed for further reducing friction loss (energy loss) and superior in compactness and lightness, as well as cutting-edge products for next-generation hybrid cars, will also be on display.

Exhibit Feature
Hub Unit Bearings Highly reliable and durable, NSK automotive wheel hub unit bearings are equipped with a seal to prevent penetration by dirt and water. NSK has advanced its modulization technology even further and produced a compact, lightweight, low torque, hub unit bearing equipped with a sensor that can be mounted easily to the wheel.
Electric Power Steering (EPS) In contrast to hydraulic power steering systems, electric power steering systems are a clean technology. They reduce energy loss and offer improved fuel economy. NSK's electric power steering contributes to smooth maneuverability and improved safety by electronic control.
Bearings for Electrical Accessories NSK's bearings for engine starters, air-conditioning systems, windshield wipers and assistance motors for power steering systems are designed exclusively to withstand high temperatures and vibrations. They offer high reliability and durability even in difficult driving conditions.
Automatic Transmission Parts Components in automatic transmission systems such as friction plates and one-way clutches transmit engine power efficiently and allow the smooth acceleration of the car.
