The NSK Scholarship Foundation (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan, Chairman: Norio Otsuka) founded by NSK Ltd. (NSK; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO: Toshihiro Uchiyama), held a conferment ceremony for the three students from Asia-Pacific countries (outside Japan) selected to receive scholarships for the purpose of development of human resources who will lead the next generation.
Japan is a major manufacturing center of the world. With this in mind, the NSK Scholarship Foundation was created to support students from other Asia-Pacific countries to study in Japan, and to support Japanese students to study abroad. For the fiscal year of 2017 (ending March 2018), three students from Asia-Pacific were selected to received foundation scholarships to cover their tuition, and living and travel expenses. From next fiscal year onward, each year the foundation will award scholarships to four students from Japan, and four students from the greater Asia-Pacific area. Graduate students from the Asia-Pacific area wanting to study science or engineering are eligible for the Asia-Pacific category, and all students in Japan are eligible for the Japan category.
On February 15, 2018, the foundation held a conferment ceremony for the three students selected for fiscal year 2017.
