"Permanent improvements allow me to develop as well as the technology I work with."
“I’m an engineer through and through! I gathered my initial experience of engineering in the field of production and servicing while I was at college. Completing a qualified training course as a production engineer at NSK was the ideal next step. During my training, I was awarded an NVQ Level 3 in technical support and a certificate in mechanical engineering.
As soon as I had successfully completed my training, I was offered a job in production engineering at NSK. The main reason why I was offered the job was because I had knowledge, qualifications and experience that I could use at NSK. My role here is to boost the availability of machines and plants by using TQM and TPM systems. All the equipment also has to be serviced and optimised to manufacture products according to the right specifications.
I think that NSK is a really interesting employer. After all, it’s a globally operating engineering company which expects its products to meet the very highest quality standards. The firm offers me the best prospects for the future because I’m involved in work to constantly improve processes and products as an engineer. I enjoy the challenge of meeting the targets that have been set!
What advice would I give new colleagues? Think positively, concentrate on results and get valuable information from staff in key positions. Everyone is given the opportunity to expand their knowledge at NSK – in both practical and theoretical terms.
The employees at NSK have a really strong customer focus. They don’t just think short term – they are keen to make the most of new opportunities and chances. Everyone here is really helpful and gives you the support you need.”
