The greatest enemy of office equipment is electrostatic buildup. Some sealed bearings incorporate a grease containing conductive material as a countermeasure. However, the conductivity of the grease may degrade over time, so critical applications have used mechanical grounding by flat/plate springs or brushes.

Thanks to NSK’s in-house grease development, “ground-free” bearings for office equipment eliminate the need for mechanical grounding by greatly extending the grease’s conductive life. This not only extends operational life, but also helps offices simplify and downsize equipment.
