NSK의 환경지침

NSK는 환경 문제에 대한 대처가 기업의 존재와 사명임을 인식하고 순환형 사회의 구축을 목표로 적극적으로 대응합니다.

• 1. 지구 온난화 방지
  환경과 조화를 이루는 기술과 생산기술을 추구하고, 지구 온난화 방지에 기여합니다.
• 2. 환경 부하의 저감
  환경 경영 시스템 및 제품, 화학 물질 관리 체제를 구축, 지속적으로 개선하고, 법률규정을 준수하여, 환경 오염의 미연 방지와 공해저감을 위해 노력합니다.

  지역 사회 발전에 참여하고 환경과 조화를 이루는 풍요로운 사회의 실현과 생물 다양성 보호를 위해 노력합니다.

NSK의 환경 행동 지침

• 1. 환경 공헌형 제품을 생산하기 위해, 마찰 (마찰, 제어, 윤활 기술)을 활용하여 제품 및 생산 기술 개발을 추진한다.
• 2. 기업 활동 모든 영역에서 에너지 절약, 자원 절약에 앞장선다
• 3. 환경 관리 조직 운영 제도를 정비하고 책임 소재를 명확히 한다.
• 4. 환경 관련 법률, 조례, 협정 등을 준수하고, 자체 기준을 정하여 더욱 환경 보전에 노력한다.
• 5. 환경에 영향을 주는 화학 물질을 친환경 대체 물질로의 전환, 폐기물 감소, 재활용을 추진하여 환경보호에 힘쓴다.
• 6. 환경 교육, 홍보 활동을 실시하고, 모든 직원에게 환경 지침을 교육하며, 환경에 대한 의식 향상을 도모한다.
• 7. 환경에 관한 사회 활동을 통해 사회에 공헌하고 인간의 건강과 생태계 보호를 위해 노력한다.
• 8. 환경 관할 당국과 지역 사회와 건설적인 의사 소통 노력, 환경 관리의 실시 현황을 투명하게 관리한다.

제품 라이프사이클과 환경활동

NSK의 제품은 가전 제품에서 자동차 철도 항공기와 로켓, 또한 로봇이나 공작 기계까지 다양한 기계에 사용되고 있습니다. NSK 그룹은 기업 활동이 직접적으로 환경에 미치는 영향을 최소화하는 것은 물론 출하하는 제품이 고객이 사용하는 각종 기계장치에 통합되고 또한 사회의 다양한 국면에서 사용되는 단계에서, 자원 절약 및 에너지 절약에 도움이 수명이 다해 폐기될 때 재활용성에 대한 배려 등 수명주기의 모든 단계에서 환경 보전 효과를 최대한 발휘하고 환경에 미치는 영향을 감소시키는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다.

NSK Group Environmental Structure

The Global Environment Protection Committee, which is the NSK Group's highest decision-making body for environmental issues, administers the NSK Group's environmental management system. Actual environmental management duties are carried out chiefly by the Global Environment Department and several subcommittees. At each site, plant managers and officers at affiliates and subsidiaries advance environmental management, serving as general managers of environmental management and product chemical management.

Environmentally Harmful Substance Reduction Subcommittee	To reduce the quantity of hazardous chemical substances used in manufacturing processes
Environmental Product Subcommittee	To promote product development and design that contributes to the conservation of energy and resources
Resource Conservation Subcommittee	To reduce consumption of primary and secondary materials through more efficient use
Logistics Subcommittee	To ascertain and promote the reduction of energy required for transportation

Environmental Voluntary Action Plan

The NSK Group has been conducting activities in accord with its Environmental Voluntary Action Plan , aiming to achieve targets set for fiscal 2015, and to realize the purpose of the NSK Environmental Policy.

Compliance and Environmental Risk Control

The NSK Group has set and thoroughly complies with its own environmental standards. Though based on government laws and regulations, the Group's standards are actually stricter.

External auditing & internal auditing

To ensure that environmental management is carried out thoroughly and constantly improved, each site undergoes internal auditing based on ISO 14001-the international standard for environmental management systems-and external auditing by external certification organizations. Furthermore, the Global Environment Department carries out regular environmental risk audits and attempts to reduce environmental risks by taking necessary countermeasures.

Environmental Education

In order to further strengthen environmental protection initiatives and increase their effectiveness, the most important tasks are raising the awareness of every single employee and implementing measures based on sound knowledge.
The NSK Group undertakes awareness-raising activities by providing information on its environmental initiatives and also provides environmental training at every rank of the organization, from new employees to senior management

Acquiring ISO 14001 Certification

The NSK Group strives to regularly review its environmental management activities and make continuous improvements based on the international standard ISO 14001 for environmental management. It is the Group's policy to obtain certification for Group companies manufacturing NSK-brand products as well as Group companies (manufacturing and distribution) in which NSK has at least a 50% equity stake, within three years from commercial production.

As of Nov. 2015, 64 sites have acquired certification.

NSK Biodiversity Guidelines

Basic Policy

The NSK Group recognizes the importance of biodiversity, and understands the relationship between our business activities and the ecosystem. We aim to reduce our impact on the environment by creating systems and initiatives that ensure biodiversity is conserved.

Action Agenda

• 1. Research and Development
  We will contribute to the conservation of biodiversity by developing products that save energy and resources.
• 2. Procurement and Purchasing
  We will contribute to the conservation of biodiversity throughout the supply chain when procuring main materials, sub-materials, and packing/packing materials.
  We will promote the purchase of the environmentally-friendly products, and consider the conservation of biodiversity in product selection criteria.
• 3. Manufacturing and Logistics
  We will minimize the impact of our production on biodiversity by reducing consumption of energy and resources, and emission of environmentally harmful substances.
• 4. Plant and Office Grounds
  We will consider the impact on the ecosystem when acquiring land for our places of business and during greening initiatives.
• 5. Social Contribution Activities
  We will perform social contribution initiatives as a member of international society, and value our collaboration with public and private institutions.
• 6. Communications
  We will actively disclose information on biodiversity-related initiatives to persons both inside and outside the company.
  We will heighten employee awareness of biodiversity-related issues, and constantly work to improve the quality and efficiency of initiatives.
